The LHC stands for the Large Hadron Collider. It is the world’s largest particle accelerator in the world. The accelerator is 100m underground and has a circumference of 27km. The cross-border accelerator (between Switzerland and France) accelerates protons up to almost the speed of light and then collides them to see what new particles can we detect from such collision.
