Unfortunately (no wait…) FORTUNATELY Engineering is not a particularly dangerous occupation. We have some hazards in ISIS (radiation, heavy objects being craned around, building work, magnets, electricity) but all these hazards are managed to they don’t present a danger to workers.

The most dangerous bit of my job is probably playing football at lunch… (although a team mate took me out at rounders today when I was going in for a catch :s)

Ooh I did once cut my finger trying to pull some metal shavings out of a lathe. Mental…

I work with dangerous stuff (lasers, high voltages, radiation, toxic chemicals) but we have to do things in a way that keeps everybody safe. We have to follow precise instructions when handling these items. I did once get a staple in my thumb, but I could have done that at home!
