      I’ve not had any real problems personally that I can say are down to being a woman. I think some men, especially men that have been working on construction sites for years and years can make assumptions but these are usually quickly lost when the realise you are doing a good job.

      Probably the most annoying thing that sometimes happens is if I go to a meeting with a work mate. A building design will need a mechanical and electrical engineer working on it so I will go to a meeting as the electrical engineer with a male work mate who is the mechanical engineer but the other people in the meeting will address all the questions to my male work mate. When this happens it’s pretty easy to take control of the conversation but its still a bit annoying!
