Best thing I’ve made so far was a beam profile monitor – a gizmo which tells us the shape of our proton beam.

The scientist gave me the actual monitor (which looks kinda like a circuit board) and told me that it had to sit in a vacuum vessel and rotate between 0 and 90 degrees with a set of electric field plates beneath it.

I did the rest i.e. designed the vessel and worked out how to stop the monitor at 0 and 90 degrees etc. and got it made. It’s now installed in our synchrotron and runs like a dream! (In fact, the scientist is planning to buy some more!)

I managed to create a wireless electricity transmission system. A system which allows you to recharge your phones, tablets, etc. whithout connecting them to any power sockets. All you have to do is have a transmission station at the corner of the room and everything within the room could be charged with no hassle 🙂 no more tripping over wires 🙂
