• Question: Did you always want to become an engineer, or were there other career paths you could've chosen?

      I was quite interested in Biology. I had to make the decision to do Electrical Engineering or Biology at university and went for engineering as I thought it would give me more job options at the end.

      Out of all the ‘normal jobs’ (i.e. excluding ice cream taster/professional footballer etc.) I think that from about the age of 13 I knew I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. That said, looking back I wish I had more information about potential careers from my school, because I’ve come across SO many interesting jobs while at uni etc that I didn’t really consider.

      I should say, Engineering is fun and I don’t regret my choice!! I’m just saying find out what’s out there so you can make the best decision for you 🙂

      As far as I can remember I have always wanted to be an engineer. I think right when I started studying engineering I got also really interested in cooking. I guess now my passion for engineering is almost equal to my passion in food.

      I always wanted to do the kind of thing I’m doing now, even as a child. I’ve always been interested in science, electronics and computing so I guess I would be doing something like that now. I don’t really remember my careers advice from school (apart from the advice I should be a Prison Governor – what??!!??!!) probably because I’d already made up my mind about what I wanted to do.
