Me and my work

Working on building the new ATLAS Detector on the LHC

I am originally from Jordan. I came to the UK to do my undergraduate degree and ended up as a member of the UK team building the new ATLAS detector @ CERN.

The ATLAS detector is an extremely large camera buried 100 meters underground. With 100Megapixels it is capable of taking 40 million pictures a second. The pictures we take are of protons colliding with each other.

Ask me questions so I can explain it more ;-)!

My Typical Day

I work on many things, from blowing things up with lasers to designing super fast electronic chips.

What I'd do with the money

I am originally from Jordan so inspired by former winners… I would like to use the prize money to buy a number of Raspberry PIs to donate to some schools in poor places in Jordan.
